Arrival

Words can not explain how grateful we are for everyone making the effort to be apart of our special day. This website will be as detailed as possible and updated often leading up to the Wedding. We reserved the entire village as early as Thanksgiving Day November 28, 2019 for those of you who will arrive throughout that day.

WEDDING PARTY

Those of you in the wedding party please read below to see which flight best suits you. Rehearsal is on Friday November 29, 2019 so please make sure you select a flight that will ensure you are there for that day.

For those traveling from Florida:

There are very few options and time schedules for you to choose from. Please note there is an airport that is located in Puerto Plata just an 8 minute drive from the wedding location. I must forewarn you that flying directly into Puerto Plata has a pro and con.

PRO: You arrive in the same city the wedding is in and in the early afternoon to take full advantage of the day!

CON: Flights directly to Puerto Plata (POP) are significantly more expensive than the ones into Santiago (STI). That being said there will be transportation for you regardless of what airport you arrive in. You can also explore flying into Santo Domingo (SDQ) which will have more flight options but sets you further out from Puerto Plata. Again no matter where you fly into transportation will be there to greet you.

AMERICAN AIRLINES

You can fly in with American Airlines from Miami to Santiago. There is a daily flight that leaves out of MIA at 5:55 pm and arrives at 9:05 pm (please note by this time of year there is an hour time difference. It will be one hour later in Dominican Republic. )

Puerto Plata is 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Santiago de los Caballeros so you will be greeted by the transportation company that will safely transport you to Ocean Village Deluxe. If you choose to stay outside of the Village please let me know ahead of time so I can make sure you are dropped off at the correct location.

IF TRAVELING VIA JET BLUE OR SPIRIT AIR:

The airline flies out of Fort Lauderdale International at 11:59pm meaning you will arrive in Santiago at 2:50am. Although this time maybe alarming, the transportation company will be at the airport to safely transport you to Ocean Village Deluxe.

Guests Traveling from different countries/states:

Please look up the best flight that suits you flying out from your city. Send me your flight info once you reserve so I can arrange your pick up. Please find your flights by looking up the following airports:

Gregorio Luperón International Airport: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP)

Cibao International Airport: Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic (STI)

Las Américas International Airport: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ)

**If you are traveling via Cibao International Airport to leave Dominican Republic please notice there is only 1 flight per day in the morning. Because of the distance from Puerto Plata to Santiago it will be difficult to transport you back on Sunday December 1st considering the wedding is on November 30th and will spill into the late/early hours of the 1st. For that reason we planned the weekend so that you can leave on the Monday morning flight. The bus will leave Ocean Village Deluxe around 5:00 am Monday Dec 2, 2019 to transport you to Santiago. From Puerto Plata to Santiago it is about a 1 hour 45 minute drive ensuring you will arrive around 6:45 am. Plenty of time to catch the 9 am flight that arrives in Miami at 10:20 am. (Remember DR will be an hour later than it will be back in Florida/USA during that time of year)**

Although we love to watch children run and play, this is going to be an adults-only kind of day.

WEDDING DAY DRESS CODE

The dress code for the wedding day is: Tropical Black Tie. This dress code is commonly used in the Dominican Republic.

El código de vestimenta para el día de la boda es: Tropical Black Tie. Este código de vestimenta se usa comúnmente en la República Dominicana.

For the females: Floor length formal dresses. Suggestion: We are in the Caribbean! Have fun with bold and bright colors and patterns!

Para las mujeres: vestidos formales hasta el suelo. Sugerencia: Estamos en el Caribe! Diviértete con colores llamativos y brillantes!

For the male guests: SUGGESTED but not OBLIGATORY: White Jacket, black bow tie and black pants. If you do not own a white jacket or do not want to spend money on purchasing one: We have sourced a company that will service you directly from your home. Your jacket & pants rental will arrive to your home 2 weeks before the wedding weekend so you can conveniently try them on in your home. As a second option: White “Guayabera” + Black Bow Tie.

Para los hombres: SUGERIDO pero no OBLIGATORIO: Chaqueta blanca, corbatín negra y pantalón negro. Si no posee una chaqueta blanca o no deseas gastar dinero en comprarla: hemos adquirido una empresa que lo atenderá directamente desde su hogar. El alquiler de su chaqueta y pantalón llegará a su hogar 2 semanas antes del fin de semana de la boda para que puedas probárselos cómodamente en su casa. Se han enviado por correo electrónico detalles más específicos con un código de cupón. El costo del alquiler es approx. $71.00. Post Wedding Day Trip

We know our guests will be “hurting” from all of the wedding festivities! Don’t worry if you can’t get up we are going to let you sleep in. Brunch will be waiting for you when you wake up! For the guests who are up for it we plan to take private catamarans to the famous Cayo Arena! Cayo Arena, also known as Paradise Island, is a coral island situated to the northwest of the Dominican Republic, off the coast of Puerto Plata in Punta Rusia. You’ll find yourself snorkeling and on a small sandbar with a collection of small huts. We will have lunch oceanside where fresh local fish will be cooked deep fried and you’re served ice cold Presidente beer! More information to follow.

Post Wedding Dinner

If you can’t seem to wake up to join in on the day trip don’t worry! Later in the evening we will make our way to the on-site Restaurant Laguna where you will get a chance to fish your dinner! They will prepare it just the way you like it and serve it with your choice of beer made at the on-site brewery! Consider it our farewell dinner to YOU! We are so grateful you traveled all the way to Dominican Republic to celebrate with us.
